Objectives

This 1-day introduction is designed to explain the fundamentals behind agile – what is it and what problems can it solve.

At the end of this course, you will be able to:
  • Distinguish between projects that might benefit from an agile approach and those that do not.
  • Adopt certain agile practices and integrate them into a traditional, predictive management framework.
  • Divide a traditional project into a series of mini-projects called iterations, or sprints.
  • Prepare the groundwork for a Scrum project.
  • Appreciate just how visible Scrum projects are, thanks to extensive use of “information radiators”.
  • Exploit feedback loops to improve both the product or service being produced and the team’s way of working.

    Who should attend

    No pre-existing knowledge of agile or Scrum is required. However, participants may find it helpful if they have experience in managing projects using traditional, predictive, or plan-driven approaches. In fact, just working in project teams is enough to understand where agile can be helpful.
